At the end of March of this year (2018) it was report that Google was shutting down it's goo.gl URL shortening service. I remember reading it in my news feeds and I also remember that at one time I used the service. I also remember that I knew that I had moved to Pretty Link Pro. It was truly on of those times when I read something and truly thought “Hey… That's interesting… Doesn't affect me in the slightest”.

I am one of those “control freaks” that tries to bring as many services internally as possible. I like having control of the services that I use for my own peace of mind and the protection of my visitors and customers. So when Google decides to move services around and forcing users to use outside services, Bitly and Ow.ly, it doesn't affect me in the slightest.
